¹⁸ “Are they as ^(A)straw before the wind,
And like ^(B)chaff which the storm carries away?

⁴ The wicked are not so,
But they are like ^(A)chaff which the wind drives away.

¹³ O my God, make them like the ^[a](A)whirling dust,
Like ^(B)chaff before the wind.

⁵ But the multitude of your ^[a]enemies will become like fine ^(A)dust,
And the multitude of the ^(B)ruthless ones like the chaff which ^[b]blows away;
And it will happen ^(C)instantly, suddenly.

¹⁵ “Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
^(A)You will thresh the ^(B)mountains and pulverize them,
And will make the hills like chaff.
¹⁶ “You will ^(C)winnow them, and the wind will carry them away,
And the storm will scatter them;
But you will ^(D)rejoice in the Lord,
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
