¹¹ and I will inflict punishment on Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”^(A)

A Prophecy Against Edom

¹² “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Edom^(B) took revenge on Judah and became very guilty by doing so, ¹³ therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand^(C) against Edom and kill both man and beast.^(D) I will lay it waste, and from Teman^(E) to Dedan^(F) they will fall by the sword.^{(G) 14} I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger^(H) and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”^(I)

¹⁵ But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.^(A)

³² “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. ³³ Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ ³⁴ In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

³⁵ “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”^(A)

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.^(A) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”^(B)
