13 “There are those who rebel against the light —
they don’t know its ways or stay in its paths.
14 The murderer rises with the light
to kill the poor and needy;
while at night he is like a thief.
15 The eye of the adulterer too waits for twilight;
he thinks, ‘No eye will see me’;
but [to be sure], he covers his face.

13 “There are those who rebel against the light,(A)
who do not know its ways
or stay in its paths.(B)
14 When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up,
kills(C) the poor and needy,(D)
and in the night steals forth like a thief.(E)
15 The eye of the adulterer(F) watches for dusk;(G)
he thinks, ‘No eye will see me,’(H)
and he keeps his face concealed.

14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
