3 They lead away the ass of the fatherless, and take the widow’s ox to pledge.
4 They make the poor to turn out of the way, so that the poor of the earth hide themselves [a]together.
5 Behold, others as wild asses in the wilderness, go forth to their business, and [b]rise early for a prey: the wilderness [c]giveth him and his children food.

3 They drive away the orphan’s donkey
and take the widow’s ox in pledge.(A)
4 They thrust the needy(B) from the path
and force all the poor(C) of the land into hiding.(D)
5 Like wild donkeys(E) in the desert,
the poor go about their labor(F) of foraging food;
the wasteland(G) provides food for their children.
