4 The needy are kicked aside; they must get out of the way. 5 Like the wild donkeys in the desert, the poor must spend all their time just getting barely enough to keep soul and body together. They are sent into the desert to search for food for their children. 6 They eat what they find that grows wild and must even glean the vineyards of the wicked.

4 They thrust the needy(A) from the path
and force all the poor(B) of the land into hiding.(C)
5 Like wild donkeys(D) in the desert,
the poor go about their labor(E) of foraging food;
the wasteland(F) provides food for their children.
6 They gather fodder(G) in the fields
and glean in the vineyards(H) of the wicked.(I)
