¹⁶ Though he heaps up silver like dust and piles up clothing like clay,

¹⁷ He may prepare it, but the just will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.

²² A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.

²⁶ For to the person who pleases Him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and heaping up, that he may give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it.
