^17 (A)Terror and pit and snare
^[a]Confront you, O inhabitant of the earth.
¹⁸ Then it will be that he who flees the ^[b]report of disaster will fall into the pit,
And he who ^[c]climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare;
For the ^(B)windows ^[d]above are opened, and the ^(C)foundations of the earth shake.
