²⁵Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?

¹⁰When I weep and fast,^(A)
I must endure scorn;

¹⁰When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

²⁴My knees give^(A) way from fasting;^(B)
my body is thin and gaunt.^(C)

²⁴My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
