Job 30:3-7

New International Version

³Haggard from want and hunger,
    they roamed^[a] the parched land^(A)
    in desolate wastelands^(B) at night.^(C)
⁴In the brush they gathered salt herbs,^(D)
    and their food^[b] was the root of the broom bush.^(E)
⁵They were banished from human society,
    shouted at as if they were thieves.
⁶They were forced to live in the dry stream beds,
    among the rocks and in holes in the ground.^(F)
⁷They brayed^(G) among the bushes^(H)
    and huddled in the undergrowth.

³³Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched^(B) with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.^(C)
