Psalm 104:6-9
Amplified Bible
6
You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters were standing above the mountains.(A)
7
At Your rebuke they fled;
At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.
8
The mountains rose, the valleys sank down
To the place which You established for them.
9
You set a boundary [for the waters] that they may not cross over,
So that they will not return to cover the earth.
Psalm 104:6-9
New International Version
6 You covered it(A) with the watery depths(B) as with a garment;
the waters stood(C) above the mountains.
7 But at your rebuke(D) the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunder(E) they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assigned(F) for them.
9 You set a boundary(G) they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.
Jeremiah 5:22
Amplified Bible
22
‘Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord.
‘Do you not tremble [in awe] in My presence?
For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea,
An eternal decree and a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass.
Though the waves [of the sea] toss and break, yet they cannot prevail [against the sand ordained to hold them back];
Though the waves and the billows roar, yet they cannot cross over [the barrier].
[Is not such a God to be feared?]
Jeremiah 5:22
