⁹ By the blast of God they perish,
And by the breath of His anger they are consumed.

^28 (A)His breath is like an overflowing stream,
^(B)Which reaches up to the neck,
To sift the nations with the sieve of futility;
And there shall be ^(C)a bridle in the jaws of the people,
Causing them to err.

^33 (A)For Tophet was established of old,
Yes, for the king it is prepared.
He has made it deep and large;
Its pyre is fire with much wood;
The breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone,
Kindles it.

⁶ And ^(A)he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and ^(B)strike the earth with ^(C)a curse.”
