God Restores Job

¹⁰ After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and doubled his previous possessions.^(A)

⁴⁴ Fields will be purchased, the transaction written on a scroll and sealed,^(A) and witnesses will be called on in the land of Benjamin,^(B) in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in Judah’s cities—the cities of the hill country, the cities of the Judean foothills, and the cities of the Negev—because I will restore their fortunes.”^[a]

This is the Lord’s declaration.

⁵³ “‘I will restore their fortunes,^(A) the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and those of Samaria and her daughters. I will also restore^[a] your fortunes among them,^(B)

²⁵ “So this is what the Lord God says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob^(A) and have compassion on the whole house of Israel,^(B) and I will be jealous for my holy name.
