¹²Making void thoughts of the subtile, And their hands do not execute wisdom.

¹³Capturing the wise in their subtilty, And the counsel of wrestling ones was hastened,

¹⁴By day they meet darkness, And as night -- they grope at noon.

¹²He thwarts the plans^(A) of the crafty,
    so that their hands achieve no success.^(B)
¹³He catches the wise^(C) in their craftiness,^(D)
    and the schemes of the wily are swept away.^(E)
¹⁴Darkness^(F) comes upon them in the daytime;
    at noon they grope as in the night.^(G)
