⁵ But if you will seek God earnestly
    and plead^(A) with the Almighty,^(B)

¹³ “Yet if you devote your heart^(A) to him
    and stretch out your hands^(B) to him,^(C)

³ But I desire to speak to the Almighty^(A)
    and to argue my case with God.^(B)

¹⁵ Though he slay me, yet will I hope^(A) in him;^(B)
    I will surely^[a] defend my ways to his face.^(C)

⁴ I would state my case^(A) before him
    and fill my mouth with arguments.^(B)

²³ Awake,^(A) and rise^(B) to my defense!
    Contend^(C) for me, my God and Lord.

¹⁵ and call^(A) on me in the day of trouble;^(B)
    I will deliver^(C) you, and you will honor^(D) me.”
