¹² From the city people groan,
And the souls of the wounded cry for help;
Yet God ^(A)does not pay attention to the offensiveness.

⁴ Therefore ^(A)my spirit ^[a]feels weak within me;
My heart is ^[b](B)appalled within me.

¹⁴ The ^(A)spirit of a person can endure his sickness,
But as for a ^(B)broken spirit, who can endure it?
