17 Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers,
Weep (A)between the porch and the altar,
And let them say, “(B)Spare Your people, O Lord,
And do not make Your inheritance a (C)reproach,
A byword among the nations.
Why should they among the peoples say,
(D)Where is their God?’”

Deliverance Promised

18 Then the Lord [a]will be (E)zealous for His land
And [b]will have (F)pity on His people.
19 The Lord [c]will answer and say to His people,
“Behold, I am going to (G)send you grain, new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied in full with [d]them;
And I will (H)never again make you a reproach among the nations.

    and took pity(H) on his people.

19 The Lord replied[a] to them:

“I am sending you grain, new wine(I) and olive oil,(J)
    enough to satisfy you fully;(K)
never again will I make you
    an object of scorn(L) to the nations.
