12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 who were [a]born, not of [b]blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh, and [c]dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of [d]the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed(A) in his name,(B) he gave the right to become children of God(C)— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.(D)
14 The Word became flesh(E) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,(F) the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace(G) and truth.(H)
