33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come down, and tarry still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is [a]that Son of God.
35 ¶ [b]The next day, John stood again, and two of his disciples.

33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water(A) told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’(B) 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[a](C)
