Good News Translation
42 Then he took Simon to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said, “Your name is Simon son of John, but you will be called Cephas.” (This is the same as Peter and means “a rock.”)
Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael
43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come with me!” (44 Philip was from Bethsaida, the town where Andrew and Peter lived.)

42 And he brought him to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called(A) Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter[a]).(B)

43 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip,(C) he said to him, “Follow me.”(D)
44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida.(E)
