¹⁷The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life^(A)—only to take it up again.

¹⁷Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

¹¹^(A)I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd ^(B)lays down his life for the sheep.

¹¹“I am^(A) the good shepherd.^(B) The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.^(C)
