^24 (A)The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, “How long ^[a]will You keep us in suspense? If You are ^[b]the Christ, tell us ^(B)plainly.”

¹⁴ So Jesus then said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead,

²⁵ “These things I have spoken to you in ^[a](A)figurative language; ^(B)an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in ^[b]figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father.

²⁹ His disciples *said, “Lo, now You are speaking plainly and are not ^[a]using ^(A)a figure of speech.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, “I ^(A)have spoken openly to the world; I always ^(B)taught in ^[a]synagogues and ^(C)in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.
