39 But they couldn’t believe, for as Isaiah also said: 40 “God[a] has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts so that they can neither see nor understand nor turn to me to heal them.” 41 Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he made this prediction, for he had seen a vision of the Messiah’s glory.

John 12:39-41
New International Version
39 For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts,
nor turn—and I would heal them.”[a](A)
41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory(B) and spoke about him.(C)
