6 He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and (A)having charge of the money bag he used to help himself to what was put into it. 7 Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it[a] for the day of my burial. 8 For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.(B) 8 You will always have the poor among you,[a](C) but you will not always have me.”
