12 While I was with them, I was protecting them by your name that you have given me. I guarded(A) them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction,[a] so that the Scripture(B) may be fulfilled.(C) 13 Now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy completed in them. 14 I have given them your word. The world hated(D) them because they are not of the world,(E) just as I am not of the world.(F)

12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[a] that name you gave me. None has been lost(A) except the one doomed to destruction(B) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(C)
13 “I am coming to you now,(D) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(E) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(F) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(G)
