¹⁵ I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them ^[a]from ^[b](A)the evil one.

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and ^(A)God is faithful, who will not allow you to be ^(B)tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

³ But ^(A)the Lord is faithful, ^[a]and He will strengthen and protect you ^[b]from ^(B)the evil one.

¹⁸ The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will ^[a](A)bring me safely to His ^(B)heavenly kingdom; ^(C)to ^[b]Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

^9 (A)then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from ^[a]temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the ^(B)day of judgment,

^18 (A)We know that ^(B)no one who is ^[a]born of God sins; but He who was ^[b]born of God ^(C)keeps him, and ^(D)the evil one does not ^(E)touch him.
