27 Peter then denied it again. Immediately a rooster crowed.(A)
Jesus before Pilate
28 Then(B) they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters.(C) It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.
29 Then Pilate(D) came out to them and said, “What charge(E) do you bring against this man?”

27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.(A)
Jesus Before Pilate(B)
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.(C) By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace,(D) because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.(E) 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
