37 So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king.[a] For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”(A) 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”(B)

When he had said this, he again went out to the Jews and said to them, “I find no guilt in him. 39 But you have a custom that I release one prisoner to you at Passover.[b] Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.(A) Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”(B)

38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.(C) 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
