John 21:18-25
Legacy Standard Bible
18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go.” 19 Now this He said, (A)signifying by (B)what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He *said to him, “(C)Follow Me!”
Jesus’ Command to Follow Him
20 Peter, turning around, *saw the (D)disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had (E)leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21 So Peter seeing him *said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?” 22 Jesus *said to him, “If I want him to remain (F)until I come, what is that to you? You (G)follow Me!” 23 Therefore this saying went out among (H)the brothers that this disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain (I)until I come, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who (J)is bearing witness to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his witness is true.
25 And there are also (K)many other things which Jesus did, which if they *were written one after the other, I suppose that even the world itself *could not contain the books that *would be written.

John 21:18-25
New International Version
18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death(A) by which Peter would glorify God.(B) Then he said to him, “Follow me!”(C)
20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved(D) was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”)(E) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return,(F) what is that to you? You must follow me.”(G) 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers(H) that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things(I) and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.(J)
25 Jesus did many other things as well.(K) If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
