22 Jesus said to him, `If I want him to wait till I come, what is that to you? I want you to come and follow me.'

23 So the report went around among the brothers that that disciple would not die. Jesus had not said to him, `You will not die.' But he had said, `If I want him to wait till I come, what is that to you?'

24 The same disciple said these things and wrote them. We know what he said is true.

You must follow me.”(B) 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers(C) that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”

24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things(D) and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.(E)
