International Children’s Bible
17 God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. 18 He who believes in God’s Son is not judged guilty. He who does not believe has already been judged guilty, because he has not believed in God’s only Son. 19 People are judged by this fact: I am the Light from God that has come into the world. But men did not want light. They wanted darkness because they were doing evil things.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world(A) to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.(B) 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,(C) but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.(D) 19 This is the verdict: Light(E) has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.(F)
