²⁶ For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He ^(A)gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; ²⁷ and He gave Him authority to ^(B)execute judgment, because He is ^[a]the Son of Man.

²⁸ Then Jesus cried out in the temple, ^(A)teaching and saying, “^(B)You both know Me and you know where I am from; and ^(C)I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.

^26 (A)The one who overcomes, and the one who keeps My deeds ^(B)until the end, ^(C)I will give him authority over the ^[a]nations; ²⁷ and he shall ^[b](D)rule them with a rod of iron, ^(E)as the vessels of the potter are shattered, as I also have received authority from My Father;

¹⁷ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave; since you have been ^(A)faithful in a very little thing, you are to have authority over ten cities.’
