38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 (A)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and (B)these are they which testify of Me. 40 (C)But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

38 nor does his word dwell in you,(A) for you do not believe(B) the one he sent.(C) 39 You study[a] the Scriptures(D) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(E) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(F) 40 yet you refuse to come to me(G) to have life.
