⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “^(A)Did I Myself not choose you, ^(B)the twelve? And yet one of you is ^(C)a devil.”

^18 (A)I am not speaking about all of you. I know the ones whom I have ^(B)chosen; but this is happening ^(C)so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘^(D)He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but ^(A)I chose you out of the world, ^(B)because of this the world hates you.
