28 ¶ [a]Then cried Jesus in the Temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am: yet am I not come of myself, but he that sent me, is true, whom ye know not.
29 But I know him: for I am of him, and he hath sent me.
30 [b]Then they sought to take him, but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts,(A) cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from.(B) I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true.(C) You do not know him, 29 but I know him(D) because I am from him and he sent me.”(E)
30 At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him,(F) because his hour had not yet come.(G)
