³⁹ He said this about the Spirit.^(A) Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit,^(B) for the Spirit^[a] had not yet been received^[b][c] because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

²⁶ But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit^(A)—the Father will send^(B) Him in My name—will teach you all things^(C) and remind you of everything I have told you.^(D)

⁷ Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth.^(A) It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.^(B)

¹³ When the Spirit of truth^(A) comes, He will guide you into all the truth.^(B) For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.
