21 So he said to them again, (A)“I am going away, and (B)you will seek me, and (C)you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.” 22 So the Jews said, (D)“Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?” 23 He said to them, (E)“You are from below; I am from above. (F)You are of this world; (G)I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you (H)would die in your sins, for (I)unless you believe that (J)I am he you will die in your sins.”

Dispute Over Who Jesus Is

21 Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die(A) in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.”(B)

22 This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?”

23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.(C) 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he,(D) you will indeed die in your sins.”
