⁵² Then the Jews said, “Now we know You have a demon. Abraham died and so did the prophets. You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word, he will never taste death—ever!’

⁵⁵ You’ve never known Him, but I know Him. If I were to say I don’t know Him,^(A) I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him,^(B) and I keep His word.

²³ Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.^{(A) 24} The one who doesn’t love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.^(B)

²⁰ Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’^(A) If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word,^(B) they will also keep yours.
