Disciples’ Future Glory

²² The ^(A)glory which You have given Me I also have given to them, so that they may be one, just as We are one;

²¹ that ^(A)the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

²³ And He did so to make known ^(A)the riches of His glory upon ^(B)objects of mercy, which He ^(C)prepared beforehand for glory,

^42 (A)So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown ^[a](B)a perishable body, it is raised ^[b](C)an imperishable body; ⁴³ it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in ^(D)glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; ⁴⁴ it is sown a ^(E)natural body, it is raised a ^(F)spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ So also it is written: “The first ^(G)man, Adam, became a living ^[c]person.” The ^(H)last Adam was a ^(I)life-giving spirit. ⁴⁶ However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man is ^(J)from the earth, ^[d](K)earthy; the second man is from heaven. ⁴⁸ As is the earthy one, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly one, ^(L)so also are those who are heavenly. ⁴⁹ Just as we have ^(M)borne the image of the earthy, ^[e]we ^(N)will also bear the image of the heavenly.

The Mystery of Resurrection

⁵⁰ Now I say this, brothers and sisters, that ^(O)flesh and blood cannot ^(P)inherit the kingdom of God; nor does ^[f]the perishable inherit ^[g](Q)the imperishable. ⁵¹ Behold, I am telling you a ^[h](R)mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be ^(S)changed, ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for ^(T)the trumpet will sound, and ^(U)the dead will be raised ^[i]imperishable, and ^(V)we will be changed. ⁵³ For this ^[j]perishable must put on ^[k](W)the imperishable, and this ^(X)mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ But when this ^[l]perishable puts on ^[m]the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written: “^(Y)Death has been swallowed up in victory. ^55 (Z)Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” ⁵⁶ The sting of ^(AA)death is sin, and ^(AB)the power of sin is the Law; ⁵⁷ but ^(AC)thanks be to God, who gives us the ^(AD)victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

^58 (AE)Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in ^(AF)the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
