⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;^(A) do not be discouraged,^(B) for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”^(C)

¹⁷ Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you.^(A) Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses.

⁷ And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you^(A) in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.^(B)

²⁷ So the Lord was with Joshua,^(A) and his fame spread^(B) throughout the land.

⁸ The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;^(A) he will never leave you nor forsake you.^(B) Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
