2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and ruled (A)from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; 3 and the (B)Arabah as far as the Sea of [a]Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward [b]toward (C)Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, [c]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah; 4 and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of (D)the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived at (E)Ashtaroth and at Edrei

2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.(A)
He ruled from Aroer(B) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge—from the middle of the gorge—to the Jabbok River,(C) which is the border of the Ammonites.(D) This included half of Gilead.(E) 3 He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Galilee[a](F) to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea(G)), to Beth Jeshimoth,(H) and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.(I)
