11 So (A)they gave them Kiriath-arba (Arba being the (B)father of Anak), that is, Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with its surrounding pasture lands. 12 But the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as his possession.

13 So (C)to the sons of Aaron the priest they gave (D)Hebron, the city of refuge for the one who commits manslaughter, with its pasture lands, (E)Libnah with its pasture lands, 14 (F)Jattir with its pasture lands, (G)Eshtemoa with its pasture lands, 15 [a]Holon with its pasture lands, (H)Debir with its pasture lands, 16 [b]Ain with its pasture lands, (I)Juttah with its pasture lands, and (J)Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands; nine cities from these two tribes. 17 From the tribe of Benjamin, (K)Gibeon with its pasture lands, (L)Geba with its pasture lands, 18 Anathoth with its pasture lands, and [c]Almon with its pasture lands; four cities. 19 All the cities of the sons of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their pasture lands.

20 Then the cities from the tribe of Ephraim were allotted to the (M)families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, that is, to the rest of the sons of Kohath. 21 They gave them (N)Shechem, the city of refuge for the one who commits manslaughter, with its pasture lands, in the hill country of Ephraim, and Gezer with its pasture lands, 22 and Kibzaim with its pasture lands, and Beth-horon with its pasture lands; four cities. 23 And from the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands, 24 Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands; four cities. 25 From the half-tribe of Manasseh, they allotted Taanach with its pasture lands and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands; two cities. 26 All the cities with their pasture lands for the families of the rest of the sons of Kohath were ten.

27 And (O)to the sons of Gershon, one of the families of the Levites, from the half-tribe of Manasseh, they gave Golan in Bashan, the city of refuge for the one who commits manslaughter, with its pasture lands, and Be-eshterah with its pasture lands; two cities. 28 And from the tribe of Issachar they gave Kishion with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands, 29 Jarmuth with its pasture lands, and En-gannim with its pasture lands; four cities. 30 From the tribe of Asher, they gave Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands, 31 Helkath with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands; four cities. 32 And from the tribe of Naphtali, they gave (P)Kedesh in Galilee, the city of refuge for the one who commits manslaughter, with its pasture lands, Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands, and Kartan with its pasture lands; three cities. 33 All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their pasture lands.

34 And to the families of (Q)the sons of Merari, the rest of the Levites, they gave from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands, 35 Dimnah with its pasture lands, and Nahalal with its pasture lands; four cities. 36 From the tribe of Reuben they gave (R)Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands, 37 Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mephaath with its pasture lands; four cities. 38 And from the tribe of Gad, they gave (S)Ramoth in Gilead, the city of refuge for the one who commits manslaughter, with its pasture lands, (T)Mahanaim with its pasture lands, 39 Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands; four cities in all. 40 All these were the cities of the sons of Merari according to their families, the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

41 (U)All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel were forty-eight cities with their pasture lands. 42 These cities individually had [d]their surrounding pasture lands; this is how it was with all these cities.

43 (V)So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and (W)they took possession of it and lived in it. 44 And the Lord (X)gave them rest on every side, in accordance with everything that He had sworn to their fathers, and (Y)no one of all their enemies stood before them; (Z)the Lord handed all their enemies over to them. 45 (AA)Not [e]one of the good promises which the Lord had [f]made to the house of Israel failed; everything came to pass.

17 And from the tribe of Benjamin they gave them Gibeon,(M) Geba,(N) 18 Anathoth(O) and Almon, together with their pasturelands—four towns.

19 The total number of towns(P) for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, came to thirteen, together with their pasturelands.(Q)

20 The rest of the Kohathite clans of the Levites were allotted towns from the tribe of Ephraim:

21 In the hill country of Ephraim they were given Shechem(R) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder) and Gezer,(S) 22 Kibzaim and Beth Horon,(T) together with their pasturelands—four towns.(U)

23 Also from the tribe of Dan they received Eltekeh, Gibbethon,(V) 24 Aijalon(W) and Gath Rimmon,(X) together with their pasturelands—four towns.

25 From half the tribe of Manasseh they received Taanach(Y) and Gath Rimmon, together with their pasturelands—two towns.

26 All these ten towns and their pasturelands were given to the rest of the Kohathite clans.(Z)

27 The Levite clans of the Gershonites were given:

from the half-tribe of Manasseh,

Golan in Bashan(AA) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder(AB)) and Be Eshterah, together with their pasturelands—two towns;

28 from the tribe of Issachar,(AC)

Kishion,(AD) Daberath,(AE) 29 Jarmuth(AF) and En Gannim,(AG) together with their pasturelands—four towns;

30 from the tribe of Asher,(AH)

Mishal,(AI) Abdon,(AJ) 31 Helkath and Rehob,(AK) together with their pasturelands—four towns;

32 from the tribe of Naphtali,

Kedesh(AL) in Galilee (a city of refuge for one accused of murder(AM)), Hammoth Dor and Kartan, together with their pasturelands—three towns.

33 The total number of towns of the Gershonite(AN) clans came to thirteen, together with their pasturelands.

34 The Merarite clans (the rest of the Levites) were given:

from the tribe of Zebulun,(AO)

Jokneam,(AP) Kartah, 35 Dimnah and Nahalal,(AQ) together with their pasturelands—four towns;

36 from the tribe of Reuben,

Bezer,(AR) Jahaz,(AS) 37 Kedemoth and Mephaath,(AT) together with their pasturelands—four towns;

38 from the tribe of Gad,

Ramoth(AU) in Gilead(AV) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder), Mahanaim,(AW) 39 Heshbon and Jazer,(AX) together with their pasturelands—four towns in all.

40 The total number of towns allotted to the Merarite clans, who were the rest of the Levites, came to twelve.(AY)

41 The towns of the Levites in the territory held by the Israelites were forty-eight in all, together with their pasturelands.(AZ) 42 Each of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it; this was true for all these towns.

43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors,(BA) and they took possession(BB) of it and settled there.(BC) 44 The Lord gave them rest(BD) on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies(BE) withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies(BF) into their hands.(BG) 45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises(BH) to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
