Joshua 14:7-9

⁷I was forty years old when ^(A)Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart. ⁸Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people ^[a]melt with fear; but ^(B)I followed the Lord my God fully. ⁹So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely ^(C)the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God fully.’

⁷I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea^(A) to explore the land.^(B) And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,^(C) ⁸but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear.^(D) I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.^(E) ⁹So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance^(F) and that of your children^(G) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’^[a]
