7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land; and I brought him an honest report. 8 But my companions who went up with me made the heart of the people fail; yet I wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God. 9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, “Surely the land on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children for ever, because you have wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God.”

New International Version
7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea(A) to explore the land.(B) And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,(C) 8 but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear.(D) I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.(E) 9 So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance(F) and that of your children(G) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’[a]
