8 But my companions who went up with me made the heart of the people fail; yet I wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God. 9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, “Surely the land on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children for ever, because you have wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God.” 10 And now, as you see, the Lord has kept me alive, as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel was journeying through the wilderness; and here I am today, eighty-five years old.

New International Version
8 but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear.(A) I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.(B) 9 So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance(C) and that of your children(D) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’[a]
10 “Now then, just as the Lord promised,(E) he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved(F) about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!(G)
