16 And Caleb said, “The one who [a]attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, [b]I will give him Achsah my daughter as a wife.” 17 (A)Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it; so he gave him Achsah his daughter as a wife. 18 (B)It came about that when she came to him, she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she alighted from the donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you want?”

New International Version
16 And Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Aksah(A) in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.” 17 Othniel(B) son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage.
18 One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him[a] to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What can I do for you?”
