And the men went and passed through the land, and they described[a] the cities in seven divisions in a book; and they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh, 10 and Joshua cast a lot for them at Shiloh before[b] Yahweh, and there he divided the land for the Israelites,[c] to each a portion.[d]

11 And the allotment of the tribe of Benjamin came up according to their families, and the border of their allotment fell[e] between the descendants[f] of Judah and the descendants[g] of Joseph.

So the men left and went through the land. They wrote its description on a scroll, town by town, in seven parts, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh. 10 Joshua then cast lots(A) for them in Shiloh in the presence(B) of the Lord, and there he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their tribal divisions.(C)

Allotment for Benjamin

11 The first lot came up for the tribe of Benjamin according to its clans. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph:
