18 [a]unless, when we come into the land, you tie this cord of scarlet thread in the window through which you let us down, and (A)gather into your house your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household. 19 And it shall come about that anyone who goes out of the doors of your house outside will have [b]his blood on his own head, and we will be innocent; but anyone who is with you in the house, (B)his blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on him.

18 unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord(A) in the window(B) through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family(C) into your house. 19 If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads;(D) we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head(E) if a hand is laid on them.

19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.
