6 But she had taken the men up to the roof. She had hidden them under some straw that she had put there.
7 So the king's officers went out of the city to try to find the two Israelite men. They went along the road to the Jordan River, to the place where the road crosses the river. As soon as they had left, people shut the city gate.
8 Rahab went up to the roof of her house. She spoke to the men as they prepared to sleep.

6 (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax(A) she had laid out on the roof.)(B) 7 So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan,(C) and as soon as the pursuers(D) had gone out, the gate was shut.
8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof(E)
