33 And the word was good in the sight of the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel (A)blessed God; and they did not speak of going up against them in war to destroy the land in which the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad were living. 34 And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad (B)called the altar Witness; “For,” they said, “it is a witness between us that Yahweh is God.”

33 They were glad to hear the report and praised God.(A) And they talked no more about going to war against them to devastate the country where the Reubenites and the Gadites lived.
34 And the Reubenites and the Gadites gave the altar this name: A Witness(B) Between Us—that the Lord is God.
