Be ye therefore of a valiant courage to observe and do all that is written in the book of the Law of Moses, that ye turn not there from to the right hand nor to the left,

Neither company with these nations: that is, with them that are [a]left with you, neither make mention of the name of their gods, [b]nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow unto them:

But stick fast unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day.

Joshua 23:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

“Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them. But you are to hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now.
